Sometimes a day in the park is just what the doctor ordered.
Your healthcare provider may recommend that you spend time in a local park as a way to be active and healthy. You’ll receive an Rxtrails Passport to Health 14-Day Activity Log to record your activity. Choose maps from the many local parks and trails that are available. Just hit the trails, track your progress, share with your La Porte physician at your next appointment, or drop off the completed 14-Day Activity Log at your doctor’s office. Some trails may even have fitness equipment where you can do basic stretches and exercises.
It’s as simple as that!
- Wear supportive, comfortable shoes
- Bring a water bottle
- Dress in layers
- Wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat
- Bring high protein snacks, fruits, and vegetables for longer hikes
- Wear insect repellant if you are hiking in a wet or wooded area or early in the morning or evening

Most of all, have fun and enjoy the scenery. Before you know it, you will be looking for more challenging trails to tackle.
